A Note on Epic 4G Touch EL29 OTA Update!

Here’s a quick note on those of you rooted Epic 4G Touch. EL29 OTA update is rolling out as of today, please do not try to update your Epic 4G Touch with the new OTA update on your phone.

Better yet, just wait a couple days until a rooted ROM of the OTA update is available, which I will post as soon as it’s up.

Why?

You will most likely lose root with the OTA update plus it can cause havoc on rooted Epic 4G Touch so my advice is just to wait a couple days for a rooted version so you don’t lose root.

I just had to replace my device because of hardware issues. The new one they gave me is el29 and I’ve been looking all over the place trying to find a method to root it. Anyone have any info?

Just want to say that I last week bought my galaxy s2 with el29. I as soon as I got it did ask the updates and them decided to root it. Addis lots of research and finally decided to give it a try using odin and the el29 prerooted no data rom. Have had absolutely no issues whatsoever and root went perfectly. Have had zero issues so far. Everything works including wifi. Obviously now have no intention of receiving any ota updated and froze system updates using titanium backup pro. Scarred any sprint updates will ruin my root and create problems. Until I hear otherwise on the forums absolutely will not take on any updates. But thought everyone should no I cannot speak for anyone rosettes experiences with el29 and rooting but I can say that I have had success.

  4. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using?
I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough
    time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and
Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most
blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S
My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  5. Good day! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a team of volunteers and starting a
new initiative in a community in the same niche.
Your blog provided us useful information to work on.
You have done a outstanding job!
